Growing up in Germany, Gerlinde discovered very early that she had two passions - the creative force and a desire to understand the essence of human beings. Following a family tradition, she earned her master's degree and became dental lab technician. She satisfied her longing for creativity as she shaped new smiles for people. To explore her curiosity for the human soul, she studied Gestalt Therapy.
A graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Cologne, Gerlinde's coursework included the study and application of a broad range of psycho-social issues and Gestalt techniques. During this time, Systemic Constellation Work became her focus.
Gerlinde has been involved in Gestalt and Constellation work for more than fourteen years. She has been leading workshops and working as a Gestalt-therapist, utilizing the Hellinger Approach, since 2001, and she co-founded the Gestalt Study-Group in Cologne .
Having progressively refined her technique, Gerlinde has trained with many of the founders and leading facilitators of Dynamic & Systemic Constellations, including Bert Hellinger, Dr. Wilfried Nelles, Dr. Victor Chu, Jacob and Sieglinde Schneider and Stephan Hausner.
In her continuing efforts to learn about human nature and explore methods to improve lives, Gerlinde traveled extensively. It was during a trip to the United States that she met her future husband. They married in 2004 after she moved to Milwaukee.
Gerlinde's prior experience in a medical office setting has provided her valuable insight into the business world. She saw first-hand the influence and pressure that individuals and peer-groups could exert on a work environment, and the resulting complications and disruptions. This led to her increased awareness of the power structures within formal and informal groups.
Using her business education and experience, Gerlinde began her work in human resource development as a Professional Team-Builder and a Life-Coach for individuals in the areas of conflict resolution and career strategy. She has been providing Life Strategy Consulting & Systemic Constellation Workshops in the U.S. since 2003.
In October 2005 she presented a workshop on systemic dynamics of career issues at the first US Conference on Systemic Constellation Work.
